The number 1 thing that all parents need to do

Uncategorized Oct 27, 2021

Hello beautiful soul!

What is the 1 thing that all parents need to do?

Before I share with you - let's talk truth. I invite you to answer the following from the depths of your soul.

  • Scale 1-10 - how much do you love your life?
  • Scale 1-10 - how much do you trust life?
  • Scale 1-10 - how much do you love who you are?

Now let's flip it.

Imagine your child or children are the same age as you right now.

And they were answering these questions, what would have your heart sing? What is the "hope" you have for them?

So firstly, I'm not asking for perfection. If you've collapsed loving your life as having no challenges and having a "picture perfect" life - that's not what I'm saying here.

  • You can have challenges and love your life.
  • You can have testing circumstances and trust life.
  • You can have difficult moments AND Love who you are.

The question is - is this how you see life? Is this how you're showing up?

OR... are you unconsciously driven by perfectionism?

Does Fear unconsciously drive you?

How can you tell?

You're driven by Fear when the experience of being at ease with life is missing.

You're driven by Fear when you feel all alone and carrying the weight of the world on your lonesome self.

You're driven by Fear when you are consistently judging, shaming, criticising, and thinking that you need to do more and be more.

Why does this matter? Why is this important?

When Fear is in the driver's seat, you're never going to allow yourself to love life, be at ease with life, trust life or love that person in the mirror.

....And here's where it's going to hurt.

That's what you're passing on.

You are your child's permission slip, their foundation, their starting point, on loving who they are.

You can't teach what you don't have.

So... what's the number 1 thing all parents need to do?

I'm sure you already know what I'm going to say. And if you have been following for a while, I'm sure you know the answer.

Go look in that mirror. And every time you see that person in the mirror, you say, "I love you".

Because Love is patient, Love is kind. Love keeps no record of wrongdoings.

Love is forgiving; Love is healing. Love is compassionate as it is fierce.

And when you say; "I love you" to that person in the mirror - you choose forgiveness, you choose to heal, you choose patience, you choose kindness, you choose compassion.... for you.

Where there is guilt, where this is shame, where there is judgement - there is no Love.

Now, here's the other thing to note.

The return to Love, to choose to Love you, will be the hardest thing you'll ever do. Because you're going to need to break up with all that you think you need to be, all that you think you are, all that you have done or haven't done - to fit in and be in this world.

Loving yourself is the only way you're going to trust life, be at ease with life, and the secret to loving your life......and it's the most powerful gift and the ultimate legacy you can give your child.

So... my invitation.

This week, what would make your score 1 point more? What would have you be that bit more trusting of life? Or have ease in your life...and Love who you are. Just 1 point more.

Sending Love,

Yummii xx
